Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the FGDCW BookBridge platform ("the Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of the Service immediately.

These terms apply to all users of the platform, including students, faculty members, librarian.

2. User Accounts & Registration

• Eligibility: Only currently enrolled students, faculty members, and authorized staff of F.G. Degree College for Women, Kharian Cantt may register for an account.
• Accurate Information: Users must provide accurate and complete information during registration, including their valid Roll numbers, full name, and email address.
• Account Security: Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials. Any activity under your account is your responsibility. Notify the library administration immediately of any unauthorized access.
• Email Verification: Users must verify their email address upon registration.

3. Library Services & Book Borrowing

• Borrowing Period: All borrowed books must be returned within the due date as specified by the library. The standard borrowing period is 7 days, subject to renewal if no other reservation exists.
• Reservation Requests: Users may submit reservation requests for available books. Approved reservations must be collected within 2 days, after which the reservation expires automatically.
• Book Condition: Books must be returned in the same condition as issued. Damaging, or defacing library property is strictly prohibited and will result in a replacement fine.
• Lost Books: If a borrowed book is lost, the user must inform the library immediately. The user will be charged the full replacement cost of the book.

4. Fines & Payments

• Late Fines: Overdue books incur a daily fine as set by the library administration. Fine rates may be updated without prior notice.
• Non-Refundable: All library fines paid through this portal are final and refundable.
• Double Transaction: In the event of a technical error resulting in a duplicate payment, users may contact the Library Administration with proof of payment for a manual adjustment within 30 days.
• Payment Methods: All online payments are securely processed through PayFast. FGDCW BookBridge does not store credit/debit card transactions.
• Payment Obligations: By using the payment portal, you agree to:
  • Provide accurate Student ID and contact details
  • Pay the exact fine amount as generated by the system
• Rate Changes: FGDCW BookBridge reserves the right to update fine rates in accordance with library policy.

5. Privacy & Data Protection

FGDCW BookBridge is committed to protecting your privacy. Our data practices are as follows:

• Data Collected: We collect only necessary information such as your Name, Email, and Contact Number to process library services and fines.
• Payment Data: All payment data is securely handled by PayFast.
• No Third-Party Sharing: Your personal data is never shared with third parties except as required by law or with your explicit consent.
• Account Access: Users may request access to their personal data held by the system at any time by contacting the library administration.

6. E-Books & Digital Resources

• Personal Use Only: E-books and digital resources provided through the platform are for personal academic use only. Redistribution, resale, or commercial use is strictly prohibited.
• Copyright: All digital content is protected under copyright law. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution may result in account suspension and legal action.
• Availability: The availability of e-books is subject to licensing agreements and may change without notice.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

Users agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of college regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or system resources
• Upload, post, or transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Manipulate, bypass, or interfere with the platform's security or payment mechanisms
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users or staff members
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the platform

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, logos, and software comprising the FGDCW BookBridge platform are the intellectual property of F.G. Degree College for Women, Kharian Cantt. No part of the platform may be reproduced, distributed, or modified without prior written authorization.

9. Limitation of Liability

• FGDCW BookBridge is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.
• The college shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the platform.
• FGDCW BookBridge is not responsible for any losses resulting from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to maintain credential confidentiality.
• Temporary service interruptions may occur for maintenance or upgrades. We will endeavor to provide advance notice where possible.

10. Account Suspension & Termination

• By the Administration: Accounts may be suspended or terminated for violation of these Terms, misuse of the platform, or upon graduation/withdrawal from the institution.

11. Modifications to Terms

FGDCW BookBridge reserves the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. Continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. We encourage users to review this page periodically for updates.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes arising from the use of FGDCW BookBridge shall be resolved through the administration of F.G. Degree College for Women, Kharian Cantt.
